Hotel Assistant – Basics

Course Overview

This course prepares students for numerous positions in the hospitality industry. Students will develop skills that can be applied to front-office roles, customer service positions, and additional operational service roles within the hospitality industry. Duties beyond outward-facing positions in customer service positions, such as facilities management, are also part of the skill set students of this program will develop. Preparation for roles in typical hospitality careers such as hotels, travel and tourism companies, the food and beverage industry, and sporting venues plays a large role in this hospitality program. This course is designed to provide individuals with the foundational knowledge and skills required to work as an entry-level hotel assistant. This course aims to equip participants with the essential competencies needed to provide excellent guest service and support various hotel operations.

What you’ll learn

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a hotel assistant
  • Understand room allocations, guest profiles, and handling guest documentation.
  • Basic administrative duties, such as filing, record-keeping, and handling guest requests.
  • Basics of table setting, serving techniques, and taking guest orders.
Requirements

Candidate must:

  • Have access to either a computer or smartphone, with internet connectivity.
  • Be equipped with quality webcam and headphones.
